Nashville, Tenn., Sept. 28, 2022 – NISC’s innovative Enterprise System took center stage during the 2022 NISC Member Information Conference (MIC) with the highly anticipated NISC Utility and Broadband Enterprise Roadmap Sessions.
The main focus for industry-specific Enterprise Roadmap sessions was to give a status update to the over 3,000 attendees on completed developments and enhancements, and provide an overview of what is to come for NISC’s iVUE Connect – Service solution as well as Operations and Customer Engagement functionality.
NISC’s David Bonnett, Vice President of Product Management, hosted the industry-specific sessions that outlined the overall enterprise development vision – and invited two panels of special guests to discuss how they leverage this new and enhanced technology to meet those challenges.
Scott Poole, Vice President of Customer Service at NISC Member Wake Electric, joined Bonnett and various NISC subject matter experts for the Utility Enterprise Roadmap Session. The panel discussed iVUE Connect – Service progress, showcased the latest developments and shared about the effect it has had on those Member utilities. Poole and his team at Wake Electric have been early adopters of NISC’s new and next technologies as they continue to serve a large and diverse membership, particularly technology that enhances communication between the cooperative and its members.
“Our members are requiring and demanding we provide them the tools so that they can do what they need to do without having to come into the office or even give us a call,” said Poole. “These technologies allow us to give that capability back to our members.”
In the Broadband Enterprise Roadmap Session, Bonnett was joined by a panel featuring Barbie Petree, IT Program Manager at Co-Mo Connect. Much discussion revolved around the ways iVUE Connect has helped bring greater efficiency to their internal operations and to the staff in the field – ultimately helping them better serve their customers.
“Connect is much more intuitive when it comes to the Service Order process as it leads staff through (the process) with no flipping back and forth between multiple screens,” said Petree. “And the integration between Connect and iVUE AppSuite has definitely brought benefits such as provisioning equipment in the field with quick access to more device information at their fingertips.”
Regardless of the industry, the overarching themes between the two sessions were helping Members enhance employee efficiencies and customer empowerment – and the way iVUE Connect will help further enhance it. The sessions also included additional announcements across other NISC services and solutions:
- NISC’s Cybersecurity Services’ newest multi-factor authentication offering coming next month is called Identity & Access Management. The timing is fitting with October being Cybersecurity Awareness Month. To help promote the importance of being safe online, NISC has developed the NISC CyberSense Educational Kit for all to share the message of cyber security awareness and safety.
- Consumer Analytics, powered by Bidgely, empowers SmartHub users with detailed breakdowns of their energy consumption by appliance and helpful tips right in the SmartHub app. This detailed information allows them to gain a better understanding of their energy and make smarter decisions that can help lower their bill.
- The recent release of iVUE AppSuite’s Tailgate Management provides a paperless method to help Members meet OSHA’s safety best practice recommendations, improve workflow performance and minimize the risk of lost documents.
The NISC MIC will run through Sept. 29 and is hosted at the Gaylord Opryland Resort in Nashville. The week of learning features more than 140 engaging sessions led by both NISC Members and staff, powerful general sessions and countless ways to network with peers in the industry.
